An accelerator for the A2000 which plugs into the CPU Fast slot. At least some of these cards (possibly all) were termed ERC which meant that the 040 was recycled. Phase 5 sourced a lot of 040's (mainly from old Apple Macs) for use with these cards in an attempt to keep the cost down. The card was also supplied with a manual which was mainly for the Blizzard 2060 and just contained a few differences at the end for the 2040 which is more or less the same card. Only the voltage regulator is different (040 is 5V, 060 is 3.3V) and the clock frequency. The board should run quite while without a fan, however with bad air flow, a fan may be necessary. The card also contains a DMA SCSI-II controller which provides an internal 50 pin SCSI connector and an external 50pin SCSI connector.
