MAX 1 floppystation, introduced in early 1989
This strange cube was introduced in a magazine in March 1989;
anyone knows if it was ever produced?
Features:
- one 5.25" and two 3.5" floppies
- low power consumption of the electronic control makes it posible to use three 5.25"-floppies with an A500 (according to a manufacturers statement)
- code lock
- track display showing current track and head
- track display switchable to any drive, also DF0:
- track display switchable to a "burst mode" required for some copy programs
- freezable track display; this requires a reboot for initialization when switching to another drive
- "code switch for different modes of the electronic control"
- the code switch allows to use any of the three drives as DF0: to DF3:
- up to ten physical drives can be assigned to one logical drive at the same time
- 40-track-mode for any drive for compatibility to 360KB-MS-Dos-floppies
